My husband and I finally decided to try Buck's Pizza in Helena and were pleasantly surprised. We ordered a variety of different items to get a better sampling of the menu. We started with a personal size Old World style pizza that has a butter and garlic sauce with bacon and tomatoes. The crust had a wonderful, slightly chewy, texture and the rest of the ingredients blended well and was very enjoyable. We also ordered cheese breadsticks with dipping (pizza) sauce. They were good; your typical cheese stick offering from any pizza place. For the main course we ordered a large pizza with pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms and onions. The crust on this was just as fabulous as on the smaller personal size pizza. The pizza sauce was a nice background for the rest of the ingredients -- not too sweet or too spicy. Even though it had pepperoni on it, it did not seem greasy. The sausage had a bit of a bite; the mushrooms were large and had good texture as well as the onions. All of the toppings were a nice size that you could tell what you were eating (and pick off what you didn't like.) I can't comment on the ambiance, because we ordered delivery, but Buck's is definitely my first choice for pizza! (August 2005)
