The Olive Branch
3236 Cahaba Heights Road, Vestavia
967-4600
A casual Mediterranean restaurant with barbecue-joint ambiance. Gyros, hummus, grilled chicken several ways, falafel, babaghanouj, kabobs, etc. Named a "hidden gem of dining" in Birmingham News City Scene, March 2009, which said, "Don't leave without trying the stuffed squash, an Olive Branch special that is available only on Monday and Tuesday nights."

After visiting this restaurant twice, I was left unimpressed. Reasons for being unimpressed include small, tight restaurant space with little elbow room, pricy menu items, and food that can only fill a hollow space. There is little ethnicity about this restaurant at all.
I LOVE THIS RESTAURANT! IT IS THE PERFECT SIZE AND THE FOOD IS DELICIOUS. IT'S PERFECT FOR DINNER WITH FAMILY OR JUST LUNCH WITH YOUR GIRLFRIENDS.BECAUSE OF IT'S SIZE, I CAN EVEN TAKE MY 8 WEEK OLD BABY, IT'S NOT TOO NOISY.
My very favorite! The chicken pita salad is to die for! Portions are great.. Though small it never feels overcrowded because everyone has a good time and the staff is friendly. Gyros are fabulous as well!
I really enjoy coming for the lunch menu. It is so reasonable and delicious. The Baklava is a must try!
