This is a really good place to get some good italian at a reasonable price. Each meal comes with a salad and some very delicious garlic rolls. The rolls were very good, not over cooked and hard. My wife ordered the Angel hair with meat sauce while I opted for the spaghetti with meat balls in marinara. The meat sauce itself was very spicy but it was still very good. The meat itself could be seasoned a bit more but it was good. The meatballs were a lot better. It had great taste. If you are in this area, I would stop by and give it a try.

Wow! I am really impressed! I am full blooded Italian... so that makes me picky about where I will eat and refer to it as "real Italian." We made reservations for 5 pm on a Saturday night, and we were easily accomidated. he staff was extremely friendly from the beginning to end of our visit. The homemade bread was second to none..... it is difficult not to fill up on just it!! I had the veal parmigiana while my wife had the chicken marsala. At other restaraunts, these dishes are quite often dried out and skimpy...but not here. Both dishes were cooked to perfection and there was plenty boxed up for later! Our waiter even let us know EVERYONE ALWAYS has leftovers! The total bill was very shocking in that it was inexpensive. I would have paid much more for such a great visit. We can't wait to go back! My Italian Grandmother's will always be best (I would be in trouble if I said otherwise!) but Petrucelli's is one of the best Italian establishments Birmingham has to offer. (August 2004)

We have been customers at Petrucelli's for six years now. Almost every weekend without fail! We love the food, atmosphere and friendly staff! Best Garlic Rolls, Pasta and Salads in Birmingham. (December 2005)

This is the best place in Birmingham for generous helpings of good Italian food at reasonable prices, with decent service to boot. Also, the atmosphere is fairly cozy, especially if you can get a booth in one of the corridors to the LEFT of the entrance. A great place to take a date or meet friends and not break your wallet. I love their chicken marsala, chicken picata, seafood primavera.. heck, everything I've ever eaten there - and I've been about 30 times. And just TRY controlling your intake of that wonderful bread! Tip: If there's a short wait and you want a drink, go to the bar and get it because sometimes it can take a bit for drinks to make it to your table.

I think it's a bit of a stretch to say Petruccelli's is the absolute best Italian restaurant in Birmingham. It is good and worth going to if you live on Hwy 280 and don't want to drive further.

Salad and overly large garlic rolls served with meals. The salads are usually very good and fresh and the rolls are good, but sometimes dry.

I usually get the veal, eggplant, or chicken parmesan dishes, but their pizza is pretty good!

If your server can assure you the Chicken Spanakopita is not dried out, that is a decent selection too.

I've been there several times and will probably go back, but only because they have good prices and it is close to home.

Huge portions and good, basic Italian food. I like their chicken marinara - almost better than Divinci's.

Some girl I used to hook up with introduced me to this place. While I would never visit the girl again I would definitely recommend this place! The food and service are great! I am actually going to have a big family dinner there with my new girlfriend. Haha!

The best thing about this place is their 1/2 off bottles of wine nights and their pizza is actually very good. otherwise very average.

They catered our event and it was amazing. They drove it all the way from Birmingham to Auburn. A+++

I've been there about a half a dozen time. I think it's pretty good. Certainly better than Levoys. There specialtiy drinks are good, but I would like it if there was more in the drink because I feel guilty ordeing a second one.

I love this resturant. It has a nice laid back feeling. The deck is a big bonus. The food is good and is reasonably priced. The house dressing and rolls are excellent. The waiters are always nice and casual. It is a nice place to meet friends or to take the kids to.

I am not doing this to get a credit or any coupon, but reasons why we will not be back for awhile. 1)The sampler was over cooked and the oil tasted old. 2) my coke was not coke, tasted more like diet. 3) coffee was instant 4) we were not offered bread with the meal. We were surprised but even more so when we noticed those coming about30 min later were. 5) There was no offer of soup or salad with our entree. Either you were not prepared for us or you/waiter just did not care. We gave the waiter 15% tip but only because I know what it is like, he cannot help food preparation but his attitude could have made the difference, but since he did not care the tip was minimal.

This place was absolute crap! the pita bread for the app was like a cracker up front and soft in the back...the gumbo was horrible i took one bite and i was done. The main course was no surprise...the presentation was that of a prairie dog mound and tasted alot like the piles you see in the cow pasture. The waitress offered to bring us somthing else but at that point i just cut my losses and asked for the check which was far more than i would have paid for somewhere like bottega. I wont be coming back for obvious reasons and now my hope for the evening is that we both dont get sick although each burp is reminding me of how horrible the dinner was. If youve got a groupon to this place save yourself a trip cut your losses and pretend it doesnt exist. Youll spend alot more having your stomach pumped at the ER than the 15 it cost you for the coupon.
