(Formerly O'Kafes) Co-owners Kirk Summers and Erin Isbell have been selling their locally roasted coffee online and through local venues like V. Richard's and at a popular booth at the Pepper Place Saturday Market. The Birmingham News (“City Scene,” April 2007) named their coffee “one of the 12 things-to-do in Birmingham.” Now they have a retail coffee shop/cafe as well, in the Martin Biscuit Building of the Pepper Place complex, which has also become a cozy venue for live music. Their "signature lattes" are all named for cat breeds, such as The Burmese, with espresso, vanilla and coconut syrups and steamed milk, topped with whipped cream and toasted coconut. For food, you'll find paninis, deli sandwiches, wraps, Greek salad, spanakopita, croissants, muffins, danishes, cupcakes, bagels.

After dinner my girlfriend and I decided to stop in and get some coffee. We had read a previous review about the coffee shop and thought that it sounded interesting. We walked in and ordered our coffee. I got the house coffee and my girlfriend got a Persian. Everything is decently priced. We both enjoyed our coffee very much and plan on coming back next Saturday. We told all of our friends about it and they plan on making a visit sometime soon to stop in and study and get some more coffee.
I came here once and got a cup of coffee, hung out, worked on the laptop, etc... The coffee was good and strong and the place was comfy.
