A recent Friday night visit found the restaurant full but not crowded and we were promptly seated at a table for two. There is no clear definition between the bar and dining area, which makes for a busy, noisy dining experience. However, that is to be expected for a place that is bordering between a sports bar and an upscale 'watering hole'. It appeared that all areas were smoking sections. The menu is limited to a few salads, sandwiches, several chicken dishes, and their signature steak. A full bar is available with several draft beers. We started with a spinach and cheese dip served with colored tortilla chips. It was good but nothing out of the ordinary. Although the steak looked very good on the neighboring table, the chosen entrees included a patty melt (which included bacon?) and fries and a hamburger steak served with grilled vegetables and a side salad. The food was good but ordinary. Oak Hill's downfall was the service. We were served by two waiters, not really sure who was the primary server. Trying to be more upscale (?), the waiter did not write down any of the order. Initial drinks were slow to arrive and the cheese dip never did arrive until after a second asking. When it did, the entrees arrived two minutes later. The salad was served with the entrée. All in all, if you're in downtown Homewood, the Oak Hill would be worth a visit. Just don't expect anything more than the average bar and grill.

The chef salad is delicious.
