Lunch and dinner, full bar, no reservations accepted. From the same people who brought Birmingham the popular Ocean restaurant next door. Vey cool, industrial-chic decor, bistro dining feel. An eclectic menu features Asian, Mediterranean, Southwestern and other flavors, which enhance high-quality ingredients artfully prepared.

My entire family visited this visually stimulating restaurant one evening to celebrate 2 birthdays, and one wedding anniversary. Although we waited for a little over an hour to be seated, we were all content sharing a bottle of wine (from their very extensive wine list), and enjoying the atmosphere. The bartenders were quite knowledgeable, and the bar itself was beautiful! I ordered the tuna, but also tasted the shrimp, and steak...all of them were absolutely delicious! We split 3 different desserts, and even though I can't remember what they were, I know I loved all three. The wait staff was very kind, and we did not wait long for the food. Also, the bathrooms were so clean and very trendy. I loved everything about my experience, and plan to return for my birthday!

The ambience was very nice. The food was much less than average particularly considering the cost. The rabbit was bland - no taste at all. The food made me and my family sick - food poisoning probably. I will never visit there again. (December 2006)
26 is quite impressive. The service is attentive, but not intrusive. It has a very chic, sophisticated vibe about it, even at lunch. I ordered the chicken satay salad and was quite surprised by the quantity of food I received. At places such as 26, I've almost come to expect very small portions at higher prices. But this salad -- wow! It was full of romaine lettuce, toasted cashews, orange slices, wonton strips. The asian dressing didn't drown the salad, but delivered just the right amount of flavor. The perfectly cooked chicken came on 4 skewers that were more than ample for the dish. The only negative was that the fat could have been trimmed from the chicken a bit better. That being said, I'll go back again, soon.
Ate here after they first opened and was disappointed. But, gave it a second chance about 3 months ago and it was actually pretty good. Would definitely go back.
