Neighborhood restaurant and bar off Hagood Street is "a Generation X hotspot," according to 2007 City Scene review, but also attracts a mixed crowd from dates to families. Fun, funky folk art and mismatched chairs and church pews complement concrete-topped tables. City Scene gave high marks to hummus plate, mulligatawny soup, Yard Burger, fries, beef tenderloin with chive butter, shrimp and grits, pesto pasta, chocolate lava cake, baked feta. One disappointment was the Veggie Press, which needed more toppings. Sunday Jazz brunch features eggs Benedict, shrimp and grits, frittatas and omelets.

Have frequented this place for the sunday brunch. I like the atmosphere and the jazz band on sundays. The beignets are excellent. The french toast is soggy and disappointing. The eggs benedict is average but worth having and the fish sandwich was reasonably good.

It may not be healthy, but just get the coffee (as long as they don't run out of clean coffee mugs-which has happened there before) and lots of beignets and listen to the jazz. Makes for a nice sunday morning.

The food is great the service sucks- especially- the owner writing down reservations.

The hummus is AWESOME! Good food, but a bit overpriced.

I agree. To put it plainly, the service sucks.
