Lunch and dinner. Fun, informal, attractive small restaurant with good quick-order food with a twist. Dishes such as fried dill pickle chips, grilled wings with unusual sauces, Caribe chicken, baby back ribs, grilled tuna, fried grouper, burgers, and sandwiches from classic (grilled Reuben) to unusual (Jamaican smoke-house press with sweet tomato aioli.) Outdoor dining in good weather. Parking's at a premium.

Worse service EVER on take out! Actually waited on my food, live less than 2 minutes from restaurant, and hamburger was hard and cold when I opened the box, as well as the french fries. Since they are so close, I have tried the take-out for the third and last time this past week! They have NEVER managed to get an order right! I have dined in twice in the past, and I can't say it was any better!

Went there this past Sat night, the place is so small, only about 8-10 tables!! Waited at the bar, where we noticed the bartender and waiter drinking the leftovers from everyone's drinks they made!! Then we noticed one of the waiters,(Glad he wasn't ours!)kept blowing his nose, wiping his nose with his hand, and without washing his hands would put straws in glasses, and placing silverware on tables, AND serving food!! The food was good, but we were a little reluctant to eat after what we had seen!!

I went to Mudtown recently and unlike the previous posters, I loved my meal. We were seated really quick (and it was crowded). The waiter acted as if he knew us, he was so friendly. The food was quick and absolutely delicious. The fried dill pickles were a treat! I would go back in a heartbeat! Too bad I don't live close!

As a restaurant owner I periodically Google our restaurant's name to find what is being posted about our restaurant that is completely unsolicited. Good news or bad news is always welcome so that I can review it with our staff. However, bad news is always taken very seriously and we do what is necessary to correct problems. As the internet has provided an open forum for comments, it would be nice to hear about negative experiences directly. If you take the time to write a public comment, at least forward it to the comments section of our website so that something can be done. We are a neighborhood restaurant and our reputation is critical to our success.

For the first posting, I would encourage you to contact me directly so that I can make things right. We have all experienced the inadequacies and inconsistancies of togo food from all restaurants, even the pizza joints. However, I do not like to hear that someone tried togo food three times without dealing with this matter with us directly. On the second posting...well, I know my staff well and can assure you that they do not drink leftovers of peoples drinks. That is absurd. There is obviously some misunderstanding there. Please write me and give a discription of exactly what you saw and who you saw. We pride ourselves in the current health score of "97" and we have that score for a reason. The one before that was a "95".

From business owner to all customers...before you go and slander or post negative comments about someone elses business online, at least have the decency to contact the owner and let them know of your experience. Anyone could write just about anything they wanted regardless of it's validity. There is not a restaurant owner in the world that does not have incidents on occasion that he has to deal with in order to preserve his reputation and customer base. I am one of those and I care a great deal about every person's experience in my restaurant. So before you post your review, put yourself and my shoes as I do yours. Thank you to the third poster. Your experience is what we really are known for. To the previous posters, please contact me so that I may turn your bad experience into a good one. If all is as you said, I apologize deeply and would like the opportunity to make it right.

Sincerely,

Gary Linderman

Dear Gary, I appreciate the heart-felt letter you wrote and left on this web site. The only reason I left a comment (which I never have) is because I called your restaurant each time I had a problem and spoke to a "manager" twice in person, and absolutely NOTHING was done. Not so much as an apology. You seem a lot more concerned now than you or your partner did when I complained. It wasn't a "little" mistake with our orders like a pack of ketchup missing. It was HUGE, obvious mistakes! I really felt cheated out of my hard earned money and wish you had been the one sitting down to the horrible meal I experienced. After 5 bad experiences and $200.00 later, I will not return! Like I said, I only live a few minutes from there, and I felt like my chances would be good on my take out being fresh and hot. It was horrible. The other person who ordered take out with me on these occasions, was disappointed as well. The two of us dined in together and my point of view still stands. It was horrible food with terrible service. I would actually believe the second review before you could convince me otherwise! I can promise you, I will never return to your establishment!

I am new to the area and my family and started dining at Mudtown since late Jan. On our first experience we were greeted by a gentleman named Mark (his receipts say Schnei, which I assume is Schneider his last name) Mudtown is not the biggest place but he made us comfortable by pushing some tables together, which happens to still be very close to other diners and since I have 3 children I worry about other guests. Mark walked us through the menu and everything we ordered, which he suggested, was just as he said it was... incredible. Also to my surprise he treated my kids to fruit while we waited for our food which kept them busy and he also entertained them. I love this because I know that kids are messy and waiters tend to ignore the kids, but my kids just loved him. All this was on our first visit. We have returned as often as work and family allows and when we decide on a place to eat my kids ask to go to Mudtown and see Mark. Its nice to go out to eat and feel like you are welcomed as a family and as a bonus even have a bad day but can feel much better after a dining experience. We usually ask for Mark but even when he is not there we still have enjoyed our experience. I have even begun to have work related meetings with clients from out of town at this establishment. Its nice to know that I can do this and know that my waiter is going to make sure everything is outstanding. So all this being said........Thank you Mudtown and thank you Mark (or Schnei ha ha).

Very pleasantly surprised with Mud Town. I had the blackened grouper with fried green tomatoes. The FGT were marinated and VERY flavorful. The fish was very decent. My wife's steak was a little overcooked, but tasty. Definitely recommend checking it out. Get there early because parking is an adventure.

The service sucked and the meal sucked. Beware of bad service, nasty tables and floors, and cold food!
