Popular outdoor dining area. Under new ownership as of 2007. Casual favorites such as appetizers, soups, salads, steaks, shrimp and grits, pasta, pizza, sandwiches, desserts. A December 2007 City Scene review gave high marks for fried calamari with three dipping sauces, but called the blue crab dip "gummy and relatively tasteless." Also good were grilled red snapper with lemon caper sauce, braised lamb shank, and a ribeye steak that was "a deal" with invigorating horseradish sauce on the side. Shrimp and grits, unfortunately, had lots of flavor but not much shrimp, and desserts were "not a strong point."

5 Points Grill had a polished , clean look! Definitely a great place for lunch with this facelift. Extensive menu to please all. Reasonable prices and large portions. Food was very tasty and service was good. If you have not been there lately, you should surely give it a try! I will return!
Great food -- BEST pizza in birmingham (serously). Food had declined the past few years but whatever they did to change it has worked. I tried everything we ordered and it was all extremely good. My one gripe is that I don't like the new interior. I imagine the average person will like it more, but i preferred the character of the old look.
My husband and I recently tried out the newly remodeled, renovated and owned 5 Points Grill. I must confess we will never go back. At first we were optimistic as the hostess was very accommodating of our desire for a corner table. That was the first and last thing that made a good impression. Our server came to the table and immediately started pushing shots of Jager at lunch. When my husband ordered a cocktail the server replied "ok double stoli on the rocks." When the "double" appeared that my husband was pushed into, it was barely a single. We were charged $13/drink for a double. After we ordered I started to notice the flies joining us for lunch. We even asked to move to another table blaming it on the sun glaring, hoping to get away from the flies. Once at the new table the fly problem became progressively unbearable. Two flies drowned in my glass of wine. My husband took awhile to get started on his sandwich. By the time he was ready I told him not to eat it. As I'd been trying to eat my own lunch I watched flies crawl all over and even into his sandwich. The restaurant made the standard somewhat lame attempt to make us happy. They comped my wine and my husbands sandwich. They made a few excuses then presented us with the bill. Once we left we began to question how with tip we had spent $80 on a lunch where my husband didn't eat and what I had eaten I wanted to throw up. We wish the 5 Points Grill much success. As a nine year veteran of the restaurant industry I realize that you can't make everyone happy. With that said good luck but we won't be back!
I had just had brunch at the Grill and it was the most digusting meal I have had in recent memory. the chicken scallopini and grits were absolutely inedible.
My family and I tried dinner at the Grill last week and the place was filthy. There were files and a horrible odor throughout the restaurant that we couldn't identify until we saw the dirty aquarium. The food was awful, the service was worse, and the place is just dirty. I wish someone would buy this place and make it what it used to be or at least make it a restuarant worth eating in. It's a great location with very bad food, bad service, and a bad smell.
Over priced, but the food was editable. I would not go back.
