Mmm, Gorgonzola
Ever since the very first time we went to GianMarco's, and nearly every time since, I have looked longingly at the Tortellini alla Panna con Gorgonzola on the menu: cheese filled tortellini simmered with gorgonzola dolce, cream and grana padano. It sounded incredibly decadent, and incredibly rich -- so rich that I thought it really would be too much to eat as a whole course.
But last week we went to GianMarco's with some friends who are in the restaurant biz and like us love to share so everyone can try more dishes, and I finally got my chance to have the tortellini. It was just as decadent and rich and delicious as I had imagined. And, as I had suspected, there would have been no way I could have eaten even half of it without being miserable.
So if you're like me and can't handle large portions of really rich food, I highly recommend you take a few friends and order one up to share. Or, if you're one of those people who eats big plates of Alfredo sauce regularly, go for it. The Tortellini alla Panna con Gorgonzola is wonderful.
