A few food- and beverage-related events tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 19. Let's hope the weather clears...
Free the Hops Oktoberfest, downtown Birmingham on historic Morris Avenue. German cuisine, live music, and more than 25 German and German-style American-made beers. Tickets are $15, which includes admission and a limited-edition beer glass. Premium beer will be sold for $3 a glass. A limited amount of high-gravity beer will be available for $5 a glass. There will be two sessions -- noon to 4 p.m. and 6-10 p.m., with a limited number of tickets sold for each. Today's the last day to buy advance tickets: www.freethehops.org/oktoberfest/
Grape Stomp, Morgan Creek Winery. 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Crush grapes (no, they won't actually be used for wine), enjoy live music, wine tastings, winery tours, and a Lucy Look-alike contest. www.morgancreekwinery.com.
Fall Harvest Celebration, 3-7 p.m., Jones Valley Urban Farm's new Mt. Laurel farm. Get food from Jim and Nick's, frozen yogurt from Food Studio B, and Good People Brewery beer. Pick sunflowers and enjoy hayrides, music, and kids' activities. There's a free shuttle from the Town of Mt. Laurel. www.jvuf.org.
