This Weekend at Linn Park
Looks like it's going to be a beautiful warm weekend for the Magic City Art Connection at Linn Park.
The culinary star of this yearly event is Corks & Chefs, now in its 12th year. From 1-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, sample delicious cuisine from Birmingham's top restaurants and eateries. Ten chefs will be showcased each day. And there are more than 100 wines from around the world to sample, with guided wine tastings led hourly.
Saturday restaurants include Chez Lulu, City Hall Diner, Icon, Nabeel's, Table, the J. Clyde, and V. Richards, among others. Sunday's lineup includes Bellini's/La Dolce Vita, Chef Clayton, Ocean, 26, Rock Hosue, Sol y Luna, Standard Bistro and Veranda on Highland. Go to www.magiccityart.com for a complete list, including the dishes scheduled for sampling.
Tickets are $30 at the door. No discounted children's tickets, although children are welcome to come and share their parents' plates.
If you're not going to Corks and Chefs, you'll also find a wide selection of festival fare, including some options beyond the usual hot dogs and funnel cakes, such as kabobs, sweet potato fries, Southern fried chicken on a stick, barbecue from Golden Rule, gyros, Greek salad and Greek spinach pie, frozen lemonade, and beer and wine, among others.
