Break 'n Bread Sunday
The rain's supposed to let up this weekend in time for Break 'n Bread Sunday, featuring tastes from some of Birmingham's best locally owned restaurants.
The event, 1-5 p.m. at Pepper Place on Sunday, Oct. 11, is hosted by The Birmingham Originals.
You'll find food from over 30 restaurants, wine and beer tasting, live entertainment and a children's area. Tickets are $30, or $75 for a VIP experience, which gives you access to the Corporate VIP Tent, with an upgraded wine selection, plenty of comfortable seating, and waiters to get food. Buy tickets online and save $5.
On the menu are red chile glazed pork and watermelon panzanella salad from 26, gumbo from the Bright Star, mini Greek souvlakia from Ted's, assorted breads and spreads from Chez Lulu/Continental bakery, pizza from Cosmo's, low country caviar from Dyron's Low Country, shrimp and grits from Little Savannah, Franklin's Homewood Gourmet's famous Baby Blue Salad, meatloaf from John's City Diner, crepes from Cafe de Paris, baby back rips with bacon and blue cheese slaw from Daniel George, and more.
