The Birmingham and Richmond, Va., locations of Copper Grill restaurant have been sold to the owners of Plaza III Steakhouse, according to the Birmingham Business Journal. The restaurant is expected to change to Plaza III within a few weeks.

The owner of Plaza III is Haddad Restaurant Group, based in Kansas City, Mo. According to the Plaza III web site, there are five other locations. It has received the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence and is included in Tom Horan's "America's Top Ten Club." The original location, in KC's famed Plaza, has been open since 1963, and reviews on Yahoo Travel were mostly glowing.

According to the web site, Haddad also owns and operates a number of other restaurants, most in the Kansas City area.
