Demetri's BBQ is a fantastic place to enjoy a good Southern breakfast. I usually get the eggs, bacon and biscuit, but recently decided to try to their French toast. Demetri's French toast was the most amazing French toast I have ever had. A full order included three generous slices of french bread coated in egg, with a crunchy shell of cinnamon & sugar. The French toast was perfectly cooked - crunchy on the outside and as sweet as a donut on the inside. I am no longer ordering anything else when I pay Demetri's a breakfast visit. (2005)

This Homewood legend consistently serves the best barbecued pork and turkey in the Birmingham area. Demitri's extensive menu should cater to any taste ranging from traditional slow smoked pork, hand made hamburgers, delicious smoked turkey breast, and traditional Greek and southern vegetables. For a treat, try their smoked pork plate, inside sliced meat, with baked beans and french fries. Demitri's baked beans are simmered with a finely minced smattering of barbecued pork for a rich and complex taste, far better than anyone in the area. Vegetable Night (Tuesday) and Greek chicken night (Wednesday)are popular, so come early. For dessert, their homemade chocolate, lemon, and coconut pies are a decadent finish. Demitri's has been my favorite barbecue for years and they never fail to impress. (March 2006)

Don't order the ribs. They're baby back ribs (with two sides, granted) for nine-and-a-half bucks a plate. All four of them
